Magdalena Wiegner undertook her master of craftsmanship in stone sculpturing. Additionally she graduated with a degree in design, its focus being on digital drawing.
During her studies she spent most of her free time either sketching both digitally or as free hand drawings or transcribing her dreams into small and black dream diaries.
Once completing her apprenticeship she let her creativity lead the way so that now she fills her days with mainly two activities:
The first being her registered art brand “Orble” originating from Magdalena’s hand drawn wonky characters.
These can be bought on T-shirts, painted originals on wood, as well as prints and can be found as graffiti on the walls of berlins abandoned buildings.
The characters are created both freely from the flick of her wrist ,from inspiration collected as biro
or felt tip sketches from daily encounters on public transport or in the supermarket.
These are then projected into large scale onto MDF boards ,on walls with the aid of spray cans and a variety of markers,
or turned into digital artwork with Photoshop or Illustrator.
Acrylic paintings onto wooden boards are prepared in her bathtub.
The colour gradients - created through the interaction with blobs and dabs of paint and a shower head - create unique playful scenarios.
If Magdalena is not to be found painting, sketching or dreaming up her stories, then you will catch her at live paintings,
open air concerts and events such as the IBUG. Her latest exhibition was at the stroke Art Fair 2013 in Berlin.
